Wisdom winds its way down the path. Leaves rustle as She passes them, branches reverently parting as Wisdom sashays by. The sunlight sings in harmony with the murmuring leaves, lighting the path ahead of each footfall. I scramble behind her, trying to keep up. She is my compass in this world, leading me along my unique path. I have found my inner compass, deep in my marrow and bones and breath, rich with emotion and motion and sight. And now I look for my outside compass, my way in the world. And I have found Wisdom to be a sagacious guide as I wind my way through the world. She is quiet and strong, but not somber. She is playful—and mysterious despite all her knowledge, she shares her insight, but does not put it on display. I am thankful for her presence, She, who nourishes me in her embrace— I am loved, held, guided, and never alone. I become her kin, her daughter, secure in her guidance and love.
When and where do you feel loved, held, guided, and never alone?
“Loved, held, guided, and never alone” is Dr. Lisa Miller’s definition of the type of spirituality that heals, transforms, and restores. And it has become a mantra and guidepost for me.
Wisdom traditions, the wisdom path, and Wisdom personified, are all guides for me in this world as I navigate my place here. What is guiding you and helping you navigate life?
