Adriana Marie Rizzolo shared this in her newsletter today and it captivated me. I wanted to share it with you too:
“Our work is the life-affirming counter-spell. To tend to the body and the soul. To stay in relationship. To take care of one another. To make beauty with our hands and voices. To write poetry, to sing, to dance, to gather in our communities, to protect our neighbors like our lives depends on it, to praise the Goddess, to not forget the sacred in the mundane at all costs, to bless the ordinary wisdom in our wanting something different, to pour devotion into the visible world. We do this daily as humans in service to our worlds. This is is resistance at the level of essence.
We don’t have to keep staring at the wound to know it is there. We are meant to grieve, to transmute, to act where we can, and to create where we are. There are many ways to fight through tenderness, through truth-telling, through art, through ritual, through community, through fierce love. The sacred response is not passivity — it is embodied devotion in motion.”
Thank you, adriana marie rizzolo for your wise words.
I hope you are finding ways to tend the body and soul, to care for each other in these dark days. You are the light. Keep shining.
