A State of Trust

Rooting down

I have been in movement
			for so long
				going so far
					racing ahead to the next great thing.
And now, I find myself at rest.
Making a home here.
Rooting down as a tree with what I have.
Instead of looking for something else,
trying something new,
I have all I need,
and I can root in place,
I can dwell here,
and have enough.
I can stand strong,
knowing I am where I am,
and where I am is where
I am supposed to be—
a place I’m made for,
a place of nourishment,
of camaraderie and collaboration,
of mutual support,
and divine knowledge.
Even this poem, looks like
a tree trunk, rooting into the earth,
Standing strong, hugging the earth’s crust
and digging deep, down to its marrow.
Then rising up into the ether, to the sky 
above, sharing its swaying branches with the birds aloft.
Swaying and watching—the ebb and flow, around and within, staying in a state of trust.

What does it look like, what does it feel like, when you are in a state of trust?

For me, it usually feels like being a butterfly flitting around following my nose to more pollen. But now, it feels like rooting down in place like a great tree. I am the tree, for me and for others.
